Artist Profile

Danny Guay earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration from the prestigeous Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in 2010. He currently resides in Montreal, Quebec working as a filmmaker and an illustrator.

He prides himself as a jack of all trades when it comes to various art forms in which he activly prosues perfecting. His combonation of film, mixed media, and illustrations feeds his creative fire and creates uniquely odd and experimental hybrids. He approaches his art with a unique simplistic childlike imagination, exploring unique technical and universal subject matter bringing them into a new light. His love for artistic expression is only matched by his love for the skateboarding counterculture and all that comes with it.

Always fascinated by unlikely circumstances, optimistic humor and exaggeration, Danny continues to turn those realities into perspective with his illustrative projects and films.

Danny’s illustrative work and films have been featured in multiple shows, magazines, festivals, and fundraisers including: the Solo Power Art Show, sponsored by Vans Canada 2013. Expose Skateboarding Magazine: Issue #30, D’arts &déjà as the featuring Artist 2012. The Yes Montreal Art Expo 2011, Instruments & Easels Fundraiser in 2011 and the 2010 Imaginative Film Festival in Toronto, premiering of the short film Riley.

In his spare time Danny enjoys skateboarding, involvement in music, and working with people committed to the arts and personal expression. His inspiration and ideas stem from his enjoyment of the collaborative process and the welcoming final result.
